ARRIVO, designed by Stefano Ughetti and Matteo Gioli of Camo and Super Duper Hats respectively, is among the names listed for the 87th edition of Pitti Uomo in the Pitti Italics section; a program showcasing the coolest upcoming Made in Italy fashion designers who’ve got an international slant.

Embracing this creative collaboration to give Italian fashion and its history a new perspective, the two designers set out to fully express a value they both have in common: the knowledge and the passion for craftsmanship that speaks a contemporary language.

When working on his brand, Camo, Ughetti creates vintage pieces with a modern-meets-traditional taste, while Gioli’s original take on headgear with Super Duper hats – born together with Ilaria e Veronica Cornacchini – looks to high quality raw material to construct authentic handcrafted products. As a duo blending personal creative experience and proud inspiration sought from two grandfathers who were both cyclists, the project ARRIVO shakes up a fresh, new vision of classic menswear.

The name of the brand, meaning ‘finish line’ in Italian, is also a milestone conceived to represent a starting point from which to interpret menswear in a whole new way. The key concepts behind the designs are the will power and the determination that pushed true sportsmen to keep going no matter what, if not only to redeem themselves to hope for a new beginning post-war.

The Collection

A fresh touch frames the ARRIVO collection composed of three separate pieces that combine to make 27 different outfits. Featuring an updated idea of cycling attire, a basic palette of black and white translates right from the 1940s and 1950s photographs of cycling’s greatest professionals. Neatly packaging an up-to-date identity, every piece contributes to expressing the brand’s balanced mix of traditional-innovative style insights.

Dubbed “Enfant Prodige” by fashion influencers around the world, Francesca Liberatore was ready to steal the show with her SS15 collection at New York’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

The post Francesca Liberatore appeared first on Fashtags.

A soaring fashion talent like no other, Francesca Liberatore graduates at Central Saint Martins in London and professionally paves her way through the likes of Viktor & Rolf, Jean Paul Gaultier and Brioni.
After establishing her eponymous brand in London and Rome, in 2009 Liberatore wins the Next Generation contest held by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. After showcasing her collections in a myriad of renowned locations; Museo della Permanente in Milan, Edieuropa in Rome, Soho Factory in Warsaw just to name a few, as world-winner of the DHL Exported Award the designer was given the chance to grace the catwalks of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week of New York with her SS15 collection.

Spring / Summer 2015 Collection preview

The starting point of the Francesca Liberatore SS15 is the image of a bird whose womb contains fragments of plastic of a polluted world, fragments that collide and combine with each other to create a new, unexpected fashion journey.

With the support of Punto Seta, pieces of the collection showcase overlapping bird prints that create playful geometric shapes. The simplicity of triangles and squares opposes the sophisticated and elaborate tailoring techniques used, revealing a 70s silhouette of retro and Far West elements.

Ruches meet and complement soft suede leathers, silk jersey and thick cotton weaves in a colour palette that travels from light pink to hues of baby blue, and which contrasts the rust and olive palette of the first-time round Francesca Liberatore menswear designs.

The Francesca Liberatore woman reflects, hopes, analyses and reads reality underlining its frivolous, dreamlike components. A bride on a winged horse with the power and skill to steal the magic of dreams away and bring the observer back to where it all began, accompanied by the unreleased soundtrack of Ermal Meta for a truly superb atmosphere.

In a wish to take the couture dress out on the streets, Miryaki puts the concept of ‘urban-couture’ at the center of all its creations.

The post MIRYAKI appeared first on Fashtags.

Driven by passionate luxury that stimulates the senses and enhances the perception of the surrounding world, Miryaki a.k.a. Mia Vilardo and Riccardo Polidoro, embodies a young and fresh kind of couture. Perfect wearability, high quality materials and sophisticated creativity are key.

This accessory-inspired brand injects its clothes with harmonious contrasts and mixed visual inspirations of fluid shapes and rich details. Through tailoring and sharpness, Miryaki expresses its most authentic character and proudly states an image of essential elegance. Its aura of mellow masculinity highlights the purest concept of femininity, shifting the perception of a seemingly frail woman to one that gives rise to a powerful, refined silhouette of unexpected strength. This process is best-described by the designers as: The irrationality of precision.

Spring/Summer 2015 collection preview.

The Miryaki SS/15 collection concept speaks the language of beaches with a 1950s Italian flavor, in a cocktail of carefreeness and colors. Flirtatious, cheeky women seduce in a game of geometric juxtapositions, soft shapes and voluminous folds that collide with angular flaps and linear details.

Micro graphic patterns meet micro check and maxi stripes. An iconic piece, the dress can be long or short and comes in a variety of styles from swingy and cute to light with contrasting tints. Pinnies and sundresses evolve into cocktail and daytime dresses, while silk crepe de chine shirts get matched with large skirt pants in cotton piquet.

Pleated crop tops suggest “corolla” patterns and go hand in hand with straight capri pants, as opposed to full skirts paired with intensely-embroidered neoprene bras. Transparent straws sewn by hand onto satin ribbons, create fringes that follow the cuts of some of clothes. – Black is not allowed. – The color palette is an explosion of liveliness, white, orange, lime, rust and blues from light to dark, in a hymn of colored silk and printed cottons.
