SPRING/SUMMER 2014 COLLECTION
Drawing inspiration from worker and miltary uniforms, Andrea Cammarosano shows reverence to rank and to the wisdom gained from experience in a world where ritual objects are intended to preserve history as relics. The heritage of craftmen techniques and the irreplaceabe touch of the expert human hand lies at the heart of his concept as he makes a subtle comment on the failure of mass production to preserve these legacies.

Andrea Cammarosano’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection “Difendi Conserva Prega” (Defend Conserve Pray), comprises a series of modular outfits that tell a tangible story. Multiple details fit together with zippers, buttons, drawstrings and straps to make unordinary uniforms. Fabrics, patterns and cuts are look to the uniforms of Taliban soldiers and civilian workers. The interchange of graphics and embroidery from one piece to the next, recalls the ritual of mourning and comes to own tradition through a message of hope for the future proposed by an imagined Grass Roots movement.

The concept of Andrea Cammarosano’s Fall-Winter 2014/15 collection is “We Are Not Afraid of Ruins”; a set of clothing rich in heavy construction and precise tailoring. A black and white color palette dominates the collection. Re-invented suits composed of exaggerated coats and billowing pants live balanced by slim counterparts which inspire a touch of delicacy given by fine embroidery and unique textures like leather and printed foam.
