A fashion talent on the rise.
A soaring fashion talent like no other, Francesca Liberatore graduates at Central Saint Martins in London and professionally paves her way through the likes of Viktor & Rolf, Jean Paul Gaultier and Brioni.
After establishing her eponymous brand in London and Rome, in 2009 Liberatore wins the Next Generation contest held by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. After showcasing her collections in a myriad of renowned locations; Museo della Permanente in Milan, Edieuropa in Rome, Soho Factory in Warsaw just to name a few, as world-winner of the DHL Exported Award the designer was given the chance to grace the catwalks of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week of New York with her SS15 collection.
Spring / Summer 2015 Collection preview
The starting point of the Francesca Liberatore SS15 is the image of a bird whose womb contains fragments of plastic of a polluted world, fragments that collide and combine with each other to create a new, unexpected fashion journey.
With the support of Punto Seta, pieces of the collection showcase overlapping bird prints that create playful geometric shapes. The simplicity of triangles and squares opposes the sophisticated and elaborate tailoring techniques used, revealing a 70s silhouette of retro and Far West elements.
Ruches meet and complement soft suede leathers, silk jersey and thick cotton weaves in a colour palette that travels from light pink to hues of baby blue, and which contrasts the rust and olive palette of the first-time round Francesca Liberatore menswear designs.
The Francesca Liberatore woman reflects, hopes, analyses and reads reality underlining its frivolous, dreamlike components. A bride on a winged horse with the power and skill to steal the magic of dreams away and bring the observer back to where it all began, accompanied by the unreleased soundtrack of Ermal Meta for a truly superb atmosphere.
